The original Corn Bag Toss Tournament is all set for Friday, September 11th, at the Roanoke Fall Festival. The fourth annual event will be held on the tennis courts at Roanoke Park with a rain out date the following night (if necessary). Registration forms are available by clicking here. Rules are available here.
The tournament has proven to be a popular event with all 32 slots filling up prior to Friday night in previous years. John Nelson, the Corn Bag Toss tournament organizer, said “So far, we have a handful of teams that have signed up. We’re on about the same pace as last year”.
The winning team will each receive a trophy and split $80, the second place team will receive $50 to divide, and the team finishing in third place will split $20.
Each year, the organizing committee tries to improve the tournament. For example, this year, there will be additional lighting on the courts to assist the players as the daylight starts to fade.
Even if you don’t have friends or family participating in the event, John encourages you to come by and check it out as you enjoy the 56th Annual Roanoke Fall Festival.
